Simple contented life with mother nature - Baja Govindam

सुरमंदिरतरुमूलनिवासः
शय्या भूतलमजिनं वासः ।
सर्वपरिग्रहभोगत्यागः
कस्य सुखं न करोति विरागः ॥ १८॥ 

Take your residence in a temple or below a tree, wear the
deerskin for the dress, and sleep with mother earth as your
bed. Give up all attachments and renounce all comforts. Blessed
with such vairgya, could any fail to be content ?

These lines will made us to travel back in the revolution and just to wander in the forest with purpose of life is just to live that day. With such a simple purpose just to spend the given day with only basic requirements of food and shelter how good a life will be?!!

However the sixth knowledge element that LORD has given us , made our ancestors to think and made them to move away from the nature and to seek for some thing better , even better and even better......
        And eventually we are now where we are now. But today though we are offered with all such luxuries and a life style far better than our ancestors had dreamt of , we still complain and feel sick of the life that we are all blessed .
          And still we are searching for the happiness. How miserable it is. ?

We may have to sow a seed of thought in our young one's mind which will make our grand children to get back to the nature from where our ancestor has started with??. With the hope that it will happen after many yugas?

For now Just relax and "Praise the lord" for he has blessed us with everything for a comfortable and luxurious living in this earth. After all it is the contentedness of the mind which creates healthy and long living life.

Adi Sankaracharya's Baja Govindam in this stanza truly provoked me these thoughts. And it is insisting me to praise the lord for every moment and to live a contented life;

பல வேடிக்கை மனிதரைப் போல வீழ்வேன் என்று நினைத்தாயோ

நல்லதோர் வீணைசெய்தே - அதைநலங்கெடப் புழுதியில் எறிவதுண்டோ ?
சொல்லடி , சிவசக்தி - எனைச்
சுடர்மிகும் அறிவுடன் படைத்துவிட்டாய்
வல்லமை தாராயோ, இந்த
மாநிலம் பயனுற வாழ்வதற்கே ?
சொல்லடி சிவசக்தி ! - நிலச்
சுமையென வாழ்ந்திடப் புரிகுவையோ ?
விசையுறு பந்தினைப் போல் - உள்ளம்
வேண்டிய படிசெலும் உடல் கேட்டேன்,
நசையறு மனம் கேட்டேன் - நித்தம்
நவம்எனச் சுடர்தரும் உயிர்கேட்டேன்,
தசையினைத் தீசுடினும் - சிவ
சக்தியைப் பாடும்நல் அகம்கேட்டேன்,
அசைவறு மதிகேட்டேன், இவை
அருள்வதில் உனக்கெதுந் தடையுளதோ ?

I am shocked to read this poem. These thoughts of Barathiyar exactly running in my mind now. I am very happy that i can able to follow Barathiyar in my thoughts. I was just wondering why GOD has to give intelligent to humanity knowing that LOVE(அன்பு ) alone is enough to live in this world in peace.

               It is the intellect which made us to discriminate, analyse, forecast and judge , imagine and all these leads to confusion and mind pollution. To live in this world is to live like a COW ( பசு) with its purpose is to shower love unconditionally to it's ones without expecting anything in return. 
                  But it is rather difficult to live a life with unconditional love in the current society. Is it so because our ancestors have predicted that in Kali Yuga, every thing would become intellectual and there would not be any thirst for seeking IDEAL amongst people.

  

 Bharthiyar's words exactly asking this question to our mother nature (சிவா / சக்தி ).

எனைச்சுடர்மிகும் அறிவுடன் படைத்துவிட்டாய்?

Why Dear Mother nature , you have given me  the power of intellect while she knows that it would spoil human like a musical instrument which is thrown to the dust.

நல்லதோர் வீணைசெய்தே - அதைநலங்கெடப் புழுதியில் எறிவதுண்டோ ?

So dear Mother nature please give me enough power to use my intellect wisely so that my living in this world will not be a burden to the land and it will effectively fruitful.

வல்லமை தாராயோ, இந்த
மாநிலம் பயனுற வாழ்வதற்கே ?
சொல்லடி சிவசக்தி ! - நிலச்
சுமையென வாழ்ந்திடப் புரிகுவையோ 

My body should be in full co-ordination with me a like ball which runs in the direction in which we are spinning it and i should be able to perform all the actions.
Give me a mind which is devoid of anger and desires. Give me a life which is refreshing and enlightening and born anew every day. 

விசையுறு பந்தினைப் போல் - உள்ளம்
வேண்டிய படிசெலும் உடல் கேட்டேன்,
நசையறு மனம் கேட்டேன் - நித்தம்
நவம்எனச் சுடர்தரும் உயிர்கேட்டேன்,

Even when the skin is on fire - a heart that sings thy praise I ask.

தசையினைத் தீசுடினும் - சிவ
சக்தியைப் பாடும்நல் அகம்கேட்டேன்,

Unshakeable wisdom I ask - Is there anything that stops thee from bestowing these?

அசைவறு மதிகேட்டேன், இவை
அருள்வதில் உனக்கெதுந் தடையுளதோ ?
